Gale Russell, PhD (2016). Value Kinds of Knowledge and Ways of Knowing in Mathematics and the Teaching and Learning of Mathematics: A Worldview Analysis. Department of Curriculum Studies, College of Education, University of Saskatchewan.

Worthy of note, Gale declined the first two years (2012 and 2013) of her University of Saskatchewan Dean's Scholarship ($22000 per year for 2012, 2013 and 2014) because she was awarded a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) Doctoral Fellowship for her research project entitled “Divergences between Aboriginal English and the English Mathematics Register” ($20000 per year for 2012 and 2013). She was also awarded the Dean’s Top-Up Scholarship for her SSHRC Doctoral Fellowship ($3000 in 2012). Similarly, Gale had to decline her 2014 SSHRC Postdoctoral Fellowship entitled “Grounding of the teaching and learning of mathematics in an Indigenous worldview” ($40500 for each of 2014 and 2015) because she was hired as a tenure track Assistant Professor, Mathematics Education at the University of Regina, July 2014.
